​

We are a multidisciplinary teaching and research team with a common interest: Educational Technology. We strive to make contributions from scientific knowledge with the aim of improving the educational performance of all the agents that are involved in the process of teaching and learning.

 

We approach pedagogical immersion through different tools: MOOC, PLE, augmented reality, computational thinking, programming, robotics, makers and visible thinking.

Urtza Garay

Professor of the University of the Basque Country - Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea.

​

Urtza Garay Ruiz is a doctor from the University of the Basque Country and postgraduate in Multilingual Education from the University of Barcelona. She is a professor and Director of Methodological Innovation at the University of the Basque Country-Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea.

​

She has taken part in competitive research projects of the Ministry of Education and Science, Basque Government and UPV/EHU. In addition to coordinating and participating in Teaching Innovation Projects, she has published teaching material for Primary, Secondary and University Education.

​

Her lines of research are MOOC, PLE, Augmented Reality, Educational Technology and Multilingual Education. Related to these research topics, she has contributed to various national and international conferences and has published chapters in books and articles in educational journals of high national and international impact.

Xabier Basogain Olabe

Professor of the University of the Basque Country - Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea.

​

Telecommunications Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, and Telecommunications Engineer from the University of the Basque Country - Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea.

 

Member of the Department of Systems Engineering and Automation (School of Engineering of Bilbao).

 

He has taught courses on digital systems, microprocessors, digital control, systems engineering, modeling and simulation of discrete events, machine learning, and synchronous tools for collaboration in education.

 

His research activities include the areas of: a) soft computing and cognitive sciences for STEAM; b) learning and teaching technologies applied to online education; c) virtual reality and augmented with mobile technologies.

Arantzazu López de la Serna

Professor at the Faculty of Education of Bilbao (University of the Basque Country / Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea).

Doctor in Technology, Learning and Education from the University of the Basque Country / Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea. Degree in pedagogy from the University of Deusto. Diploma in Teaching from the University of Mondragón. Therapist's degree from the EVTF (Basque School of Family Therapy).

 

The development of his professional career has been carried out in the field of public school as in private enterprise. Her research activity includes the areas of: Women, Technology, Educational innovation, elearning, School Organization and prevention in education.

Eneko Tejada Garitano

Professor at the University of the Basque Country - Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea.

​

Degree in Psychopedagogy from the University of Deusto and Doctor from the University of the Basque Country - Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea.

 

Member of the Department of Didactics and School Organization. He has taught courses in digital competence, educational technology and active methodologies.

 

His research activities include the areas of: a) long life learning; b) Creation of personal learning environments; c) virtual and augmented reality with mobile technologies; d) creation of Massive Open Online Course.

Ainara Romero Andonegui

Professor of the University of the Basque Country-Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea, at the Faculty of Education.

 

Doctor in Education, Technology and Learning from the University of the Basque Country, Master's Degree in Secondary Education teacher training in Special Educational Needs from the University of Deusto, Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Deusto and Professor of Early Childhood Education from the University of Mondragón.

 

She has taught courses on Digital Competence for Educators, active methodologies with ICT and social networks.

 

Her research activities include the Digital Competence for Educators, digital pedagogy, pedagogical innovation, inclusion with technology and serious games.

Mikel Olabe Basogain

Professor at the University of the Basque Country - Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea.

 

Doctor on Industrial Engineering from the University of the Basque Country. Member of the Department of Communications Engineering (School of Engineering of Bilbao).

 

He has taught courses in computer architecture, programming, modeling and simulation of networks, multimedia services, and creation and distribution of multimedia content in education.

 

His research activities include the areas of: a) Soft Computing and cognitive sciences for STEM; and b) learning and teaching technologies applied to online education.

Doctor in Educational Innovation from the University of Deusto, Postgraduate in Educational Competencies from the Ramón Llull University; Master's Degree in teacher training in Secondary Education, Vocational Training and Language Teaching from the University of Deusto; Master in Human Resources Planning and Management and Bachelor of Pedagogy from the University of Deusto.

 

She has taught courses in Curriculum Development, Skills Evaluation, Visible Thinking, Teaching for Educational Understanding and Innovation among others.

 

Her research activities link Educational Technology with the areas of Teaching for Comprehension and Visible Thinking, both lines of research belonging to Project Zero, a research team from the Harvard Graduate School of Education (MA, US).

Javier Portillo Berasaluce

Professor of the University of the Basque Country - Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea (Faculty of Education of Bilbao).

Doctor in Telecommunications Engineer from the University of the Basque Country.

Former member of the Department of Systems and Automation Engineering of the School of Engineering of Bilbao. Currently in the Department of Didactics and School Organization of the Faculty of Education.

​

He has taught courses on programming, microprocessors, digital control, systems engineering and asynchronous tools for collaboration in education.

​

His research activities include the areas of: a) PLE and PLN; b) Learning Analytics, Educational Data Mining and Social Network Analysis (SNA); c) Machine Learning.

Doctor in Telecommunications Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and member of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of CBU.

 

He has taught courses on electromagnetic field theory, data communications, data structures and database design.

 

His research activities include the areas of: a) computer network design; b) digital design; c) computational thinking and cognitive processes; and d) learning and teaching technologies applied to online education.

Carlos Castaño Garrido

Professor at University of the Basque Country - Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea.

Doctor in Pedagogy from the University of Seville, specialist in the area of ​​Educational Technology and New Technologies Applied to Education. As a result of my teaching and research experience, I have a research six-year term (2016-2021).


From the perspective of research, Director of the Official Research Master in "Technology, Learning and Education" and the UPV / EHU Doctoral Program of the same denomination. Director of the Consolidated Research Group with reference IT863-13 (“Weblearner”), subsidized by the Basque Government in the three years 2007-2010, 2010-2013, 2013-2015 and 2015-18 and Project Director for the Consolidation of Groups of Research of International Character in specific subjects (New technologies and Education), subsidized by the Basque Government between the years 2008-2010. He has participated in numerous competitive investigations of the AECI and the Ministry of Education and Science, having been principal investigator in several competitive investigations of both the Ministry of Science and Innovation (“teaching and learning in e-learning environments in virtual worlds centered on the student” ), as of the University of the Basque Country and the Basque Government (“Performance and level of satisfaction of the participants in an online, massive and open course, MOOC). Author of different publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals (The New Educational Review, Comunicar, Journal of Psychodidactics, Pixel-Bit, Electronic Journal of Educational Technology, NAER).
